Loake at London Fashion Week

Loake at London Fashion Week

Loake shoes appeared on the Tim Soar catwalk during the menswear shows at the recent London Fashion Week.

Tim Soar has used Loake shoes for his last three shows at LFW. A former graphic designer and DJ, Tim launched his eponymous label in 2005 to great acclaim. The first collection was bought by London’s hugely influential B-Store and the second by Liberty. Success has continued with consecutive appearances at LFW since Spring/Summer 09.

‘Loake shoes are beautifully made and have a personality of their own,’ he says. ‘I look forward to the time when there is a full TimSoar/Loake shoe.‘

  • Loake Launches Evolution

Loake Launches Evolution

Loake Evolution combines the traditional craftsmanship and classic styling for which Loake is renowned with the instant wearability of modern footwear.

This Autumn/Winter, Loake introduces a unique development in Goodyear welted footwear.

Loake Evolution combines the traditional craftsmanship and classic styling for which Loake is renowned with the instant wearability of modern footwear.

A new system of construction allows the shoes to align with the shape of the foot from the very first wear, removing the need to break them in and giving a degree of comfort and flexibility previously unavailable in a Goodyear welted shoe.

The Evolution collection has been carefully conceived to offer a ‘wardrobe’ of shoes to cater for every occasion. Five styles – an Oxford, slip-on, Derby, lace-up and half brogue – come in super soft calf leather and have a gentle, understated chisel toe.

Recommended retail prices from £140.

Loake classics will be worn in a new British film called Souled Out, due to be premiered this summer at the Edinburgh Festival

Loake classics will be worn in a new British film called Souled Out, currently in the final stages of production and due for release in 2010

The film is based on the lives of young people growing up during the 1970’s Northern Soul music movement and has been filmed on location in Stoke-on-Trent. Stars include Martin Compston, Jennifer Ellison and Gerard Kearns.

Loake was approached to provide authentic footwear for the leading cast and dancers with its Brighton loafer and Royal brogue, both original patterns from the early 70s that have been re-released. The film will feature a soundtrack from the likes of The Dap Kings, Sharon Jones, Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson, Paul Weller and Duffy, to be released by Universal.
