NSW Australia Review by AJ Gilchrist
Price Comfort Quality - Great price, short wear in, a little stiffer than 1880 leather. For so little money these shoes are excellent. After being worn for 3 x 3 hour wears these shoes are very comfortable. The quality is very good, in one shoe the lining is a loose fit and sags in places and the toungue is easily pushed into the shoe with the foot,; so hold your tongue. A lovely shoe for a little money.

Price Comfort Quality -
I have had a pair of these for 5 years and they are on their third soles. They are the most comfortable shoes I have found anywhere.
In response to some of the criticisms above, if you are thinking of getting these shoes as your main work pair (which is what I use them for) then get two pairs and alternate them. This lets them air and dry out between use and extends the life you get from the soles.
For me the reason for have the soles changed is that once these shoes are worn in (taking around 6 weeks) they are extremely comfortable. If you buy a new pair you have to start wearing them in all over again.
I have found the black finish to be far more durable, my brown pair have marked and I wouldn't now regard as suitable for smart occasions.
For the money I can't fault these shoes. -

Quality Price Comfort -
This has been my first experience of Loake and indeed more expensive/goodyear welted shoes in general.
I tend to go through shoes quickly as I do a lot of walking (mostly carpet based as within an office) and thought that spending a decent amount of money on shoes would work out in my favour.
Overall I have been very happy with the shoes and found them extremely comfortable and well made.
My issue is that the soles have worn through in just 5 months. I had hoped that purchasing quality shoes would mean that they outlive the usual £35-50 pair that one gets from Slaters or Clarks.
Unfortunately it would appear that this is not the case, I am aware of the option to send them back in for £65 but as I am likely to once again only get 5 months before the soles require replacing I feel that I shall be going back to the basic variety.
